Sille and Rector

Photographer of the Estonian newspaper Postimees Sille Annuk taking photos at the lecture of Urmas Tartes in the Council Hall of the University of Tartu on March 23, 2010. The lecture on insects and their habits was organized by the Childrens’ University of UT Narva College, in the audience were kids of 8-12 years. The portrait hanging on the wall is that of the Rector of University of Tartu (1920 – 1928) Henrik Koppel and is a work by Estonian painter Nikolai Triik (1928). Urmas Tartes is a reknowned photographer-naturalist himself, he won recently a prestigeous award on the Veolia Environnement Wildlife Photographer of the Year 2009 competition. After the lecture of Urmas I gave a lecture for the same audience on water and its properties myself. We had a lot of fun and hopefully the floor of the room survived as well.
